Brief Explanation
Explanation:
The meaning is that the person from whom, on the Day of Resurrection, an account is taken with severity and in full detail—probing and questioning thoroughly: "Why did you commit such-and-such sin? Why did you not perform such-and-such good deed?"—and is asked about every minor and major sin, and the reason for each is also demanded, then such a person will be ensnared. For the servant is limited, his abilities are limited, and error and forgetfulness are attached to him; therefore, whoever is subjected to a detailed reckoning will certainly be caught somewhere or another. According to Sahih Bukhari, the complete hadith is as follows: When Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha would hear something she did not understand, she would inquire about it again so that it would become clear to her. Thus, once the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever is called to account will be punished." Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha says that upon hearing this, I said: Has not Allah said: ﴿فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا﴾ (al-Inshiqaq: 8) "Then he will be given an easy reckoning"? So the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "This is only the presentation (before Allah), but whoever is thoroughly questioned in the reckoning (know that) he is doomed."
