Hadith 332

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I and the one who takes care of an orphan will be in Paradise like this (close to each other).”

Brief Explanation
Explanation:
In this blessed hadith, the virtue of the one who raises an orphan is described. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that I and the one who raises an orphan will be this close in Paradise, just as the index finger and the middle finger are close together. This is a very great virtue for the one who raises an orphan, which the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has stated with his prophetic tongue. An orphan is a minor boy or girl whose father has passed away; the person who places a hand of compassion on such a child, who supports and cares for them in an excellent manner—even better than his own children—and who protects the orphan’s wealth, will attain closeness to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in Paradise.
