الْقَاصُّ يَنْتَظِرُ الْمَقْتَ، وَالْمُسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْهِ يَنْتَظِرُ الرَّحْمَةَ، وَالتَّاجِرُ يَنْتَظِرُ الرِّزْقَ، وَالْمُحْتَكِرُ يَنْتَظِرُ اللَّعْنَةَThe preacher awaits punishment, the listener awaits mercy, the merchant awaits provision, and the hoarder awaits the curse

311 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بُهْزَاذَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ الطُّوسِيُّ، ثنا طَاهِرُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الرُّوَاسِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ الْعَبَادِلَةِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْقَاصُّ يَنْتَظِرُ الْمَقْتَ وَالْمُسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْهِ يَنْتَظِرُ الرَّحْمَةَ، وَالتَّاجِرُ يَنْتَظِرُ الرِّزْقَ، وَالْمُحْتَكِرُ يَنْتَظِرُ اللَّعْنَةَ، وَالنَّائِحَةُ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ مُسْتَمِعَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ»
Abadullah (Abdullah bin Umar, Abdullah bin Mas’ud, Abdullah bin Zubair, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with them) narrate from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: “The storyteller awaits the wrath (of Allah), and the one who listens to him awaits mercy. The trader awaits sustenance, and the hoarder awaits a curse. Upon the wailing woman and those women who gather around her to listen, is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.”
