Brief Explanation
Explanation: The meaning is that when a stranger comes asking (for help), then, having good opinion about him, assist him as much as possible. Do not look at his appearance, means of transport, clothing, etc. It is entirely possible that he is deserving in some way—for example, he may have been the victim of an accident or is distressed by some unforeseen calamity. It may be that he still possesses a riding animal, but there is hunger and poverty in his home, or he is burdened under debt, or perhaps he is wealthy in his homeland but, in a foreign land, has fallen into hardship, or it could also be that he has been struck with some fine or penalty. There can be many such situations; therefore, one should not fall into suspicion by looking at his appearance or means of transport, but rather should assist him, because Allah Ta‘ala has placed his right in your wealth.
