الزُّهْدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا يَرِيحَ الْقَلْبَ وَالْبَدَنَ , وَالرَّغْبَةُ فِي الدُّنْيَا تُكْثِرُ الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ، وَالْبَطَالَةُ تُقْسِي الْقَلْبَRenunciation of the world brings comfort to the heart and body, desire for the world increases worry and grief, and idleness hardens the heart

278 - أَخْبَرَنَا هِبَةُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْخَوْلَانِيُّ، أبنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الصَّيْدَلَانِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ، ثنا أَبُو التَّرِيكِ الْأَطَرْابُلْسِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عُتْبَةَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الزُّهْدُ فِي الدُّنْيَا يَرِيحُ الْقَلْبَ وَالْبُدْنَ، وَالرَّغْبَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا تُكْثِرُ الْهَمَّ وَالْحَزَنَ، وَالْبَطَالَةَ تُقْسِي الْقَلْبَ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with both of them) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Renunciation of the world brings comfort to the heart and body, and desire for the world increases sorrow and grief, and idleness hardens the heart."
