Brief Explanation
Explanation:
In this hadith, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has warned his ummah about the dreadful consequences of deceit, trickery, and fraud. He said: “Whoever deceives us is not from us.” That is, he is not upon our way and our Sunnah; his path is separate from ours, so his destination will also be separate from ours. Before us is the Hereafter, before him is the world. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once passed by a man selling grain. He was selling grain, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam put his hand inside the grain and felt some dampness. He asked: “What is this dampness?” He replied: O Messenger of Allah! Rain had fallen on it. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Why did you not put the wet grain on top so that people could see it? (Listen) Whoever deceives us is not from me.” [مسلم : 101]

“Deceit, trickery, and fraud (the one who does them) will be in the Fire.”

That is, deceit and trickery are such sins that they lead to entry into the Fire. Allah Ta’ala says: ﴿وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ﴾ (Fatir: 43) “And the evil plot does not encompass except its own people.”

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Five types of people are inhabitants of Hell: those weak ones who have no intellect, who are under your authority and make no effort for their family and wealth; the treacherous one whose greed is not hidden, who betrays even in the smallest thing; and the deceiver who, morning and evening, deceives you with your family and your wealth; and he also mentioned the miser or the liar, the ill-tempered, and the foul-mouthed.” [مسلم : 2865]
