250 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعِصَامِ الْعَدَوِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ كَامِلٍ بِصُورَ، ثنا أَبُو عَمْرِو عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ الْخُرَاسَانِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا عُزِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ ابْنَتَهِ رُقْيَةَ امْرَأَةِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ دَفْنُ الْبَنَاتِ مِنَ الْمَكْرُمَاتِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that when condolences were offered to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the death of his daughter, Sayyidah Ruqayyah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the wife of Sayyiduna Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All praise is due to Allah; burying daughters (after death) is a cause of honor and dignity."
