245 - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أبنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ زُفَرَ، عَنْ بَعْضِ بَنِي رَافِعِ بْنِ مَكِيثٍ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ مَكِيثٍ، وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «حُسْنُ الْمَلَكَةِ نَمَاءٌ وَسُوءُ الْمَلَكَةِ شُؤْمٌ، وَالْبِرُّ زِيَادَةٌ فِي الْعُمُرِ وَالصَّدَقَةُ تَمْنَعُ مَيْتَةَ السُّوءِ»
Sayyiduna Rafi’ bin Makith, who was among the Companions present at Hudaybiyyah, narrates from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: “Good character is a means of progress and bad character is misfortune. Righteousness is a cause of increase in age and charity prevents an evil death.”
