الْعِلْمُ خَلِيلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ، وَالْحِلْمُ وَزِيرُهُ، وَالْعَقْلُ دُلَيْلُهُ، وَالْعَمَلُ قَائِدُهُ، وَالرِّفْقُ وَالِدُهُ، وَالْبِرُّ أَخُوهُ، وَالصَّبْرُ أَمِيرُ جُنُودِهِKnowledge is the companion of the believer, forbearance is his minister, intellect is his guide, action is his leader, gentleness is his father, righteousness is his brother, and patience is the commander of his army

152 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ، أبنا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ بنَيْسَابُورَ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى الْبَزَّازُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الصَّائِغُ، ثنا رَوَّادُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا أَبُو يَحْيَى عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ هُوَ ابْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْعِلْمُ خَلِيلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ وَالْعَقْلُ دُلَيْلُهُ، وَالْعَمَلُ قَائِدُهُ، وَالرِّفْقُ وَالِدُهُ، وَالْبِرُّ أَخُوهُ، وَالصَّبْرُ أَمِيرُ جُنُودِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Knowledge is the bosom friend of the believer, intellect is his guide, action is his leader, gentleness is his father, goodness is his brother, and patience is the commander of his armies.”
