1474 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ عَلِمْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ مَا كُنْتُ أَدْعُو؟ قَالَ: «قُولِي اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي»
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Tell me, if I come to know which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what supplication should I make? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should say: O Allah! Indeed, You are Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive me."
