1469 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الصَّفَّارُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُسْلِمٌ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: مَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ بَيْتِي صَبَاحًا إِلَّا رَفَعَ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَقَالَ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ، أَوْ أَذِلَّ أَوْ أُذَلَّ، أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ، أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ»
Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) says that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) left my house, he would raise his gaze towards the sky and recite this supplication: "O Allah! Indeed, I seek refuge in You from going astray or being led astray, from slipping or being made to slip, from doing wrong or having wrong done to me, from acting ignorantly or having ignorance shown to me."
