Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: Whoever harms any of My friends has made lawful what I have forbidden, and no servant has attained nearness to Me through anything more beloved to Me than the obligations I have enjoined upon him. And indeed, My servant continues to draw near to Me through voluntary acts until I love him. (Then) if he calls upon Me, I answer him, and if he asks of Me, I grant him. And I do not hesitate regarding anything I am to do as I hesitate regarding the soul of My servant, for he dislikes death (due to the pain of the body), and I dislike to harm him."

Brief Explanation
Benefit: - Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Indeed, Allah has said: Whoever shows enmity to any of My friends (awliya), then surely I declare war against him. And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory (fard) upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me through supererogatory acts (nawafil) until I love him. Then, when I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps, and his foot with which he walks. And if he asks Me, I surely grant him, and if he seeks refuge with Me, I surely grant him refuge. And I do not hesitate in anything which I am to do as I hesitate in taking the soul of the believer, for he dislikes death (due to the pain of the body), and I dislike to harm him.” [بخاري : 6502]
