Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "A woman is like a crooked rib; if you try to straighten her, you will break her, and if you benefit from her, you will benefit from her while she is crooked."

Brief Explanation
Explanation: In these ahadith, the woman is mentioned by way of an analogy, and the crookedness in her character is likened to the crookedness of a rib. If you try to straighten the rib, you will not succeed—you will break it; and if you leave it as it is, it will always remain crooked and will never become straight. The same is the case with a woman: the crookedness in her temperament and nature is something a man can never fully tolerate, but he also cannot manage without her. Therefore, one should act with patience and wisdom; without this, things cannot proceed, the home will become a battlefield, and the result will manifest in the form of divorce, which will not only be a cause of ruin for the woman but will also be harmful and distressing for the man.
