It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of a hypocrite is like a goat wandering between two herds, sometimes running towards one herd (in search of a male goat for mating) and sometimes towards the other herd; it does not know which of the two it should follow."

Brief Explanation
Explanation: - There can be no more fitting example for the hypocrites than this, and in it lies their utmost humiliation: that they have been likened to the feminine, as if they are devoid of masculine qualities. Like the lowly, in their pursuit of wealth, sometimes they flatter the Muslims and at other times the disbelievers, yet even then they find no satisfaction and remain bewildered and confused.
