1369 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الصَّفَّارُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَثَلُ الْقَلْبِ مَثَلُ رِيشَةٍ بِأَرْضٍ تُقَلِّبُهَا الرِّيَاحُ»
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the heart is like a feather lying on the ground, which the winds keep turning over and over."

Benefit:
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari radi Allahu anhu says that (in Arabic) the heart is named «قلب» because of its turning over (changing from side to side), and the example of the heart is like a feather lying in an open plain. (Ibn al-Ja'd: 1350, and its chain is authentic)
