Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say while delivering the sermon: “There are two fundamental things: the way and the speech. So the truest statement is the Book of Allah, and the best way is the way of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The worst matters are the newly invented things (in religion), and every innovation is misguidance. Do not desire a long life among you, nor let hope make you heedless. Everything that is coming is near. Wretched is the one who is declared wretched in his mother’s womb, and fortunate is the one who takes a lesson from others (bad outcomes). Beware! Indeed, fighting a believer is disbelief, and abusing him is wickedness. It is not lawful for any Muslim to sever relations with another Muslim for more than three days. The worst narrations are false narrations. It is not permissible to lie, neither seriously nor in jest. And a man should not make a promise to his son that he cannot fulfill (later). Indeed, truth leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise, and indeed, falsehood leads to sin, and sin leads to Hell.”

Brief Explanation
Benefit: - Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu says that when the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would deliver a sermon, his eyes would become red, his voice would become loud, and his anger would intensify (it would seem) as if he were warning of an (enemy) army, saying: “It is about to attack you in the morning or evening.” And he would join his index finger and middle finger together and say: “I and the Hour have been sent like these two (fingers, which are very close to each other).” In addition, he would say: “Amma ba‘d! The best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and the worst matters are those newly introduced (innovations) in the religion, and every innovation is misguidance.” [مسلم : 867]
✿ Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik radi Allahu anhu says that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Allah has appointed an angel over the womb, and he says: ‘O Lord! This is a drop of semen. O Lord! Now it has become a clot of blood. O Lord! Now it has become a lump (of flesh).’ Then when Allah wills to complete its creation, the angel asks: ‘O Lord! Is it a boy or a girl? Is it righteous or wicked? What will its provision be? When will its death be?’ Thus, all these things are written while it is still in the mother’s womb. In the world, it appears according to that.” [بخاري : 6595]
