Hadith 1308

1308 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، أبنا زَاهِرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا مِنْ جَرْعَةٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ جَرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ كَظَمَهَا رَجُلٌ أَوْ جَرْعَةِ صَبْرٍ عَلَى مُصِيبَةٍ، وَمَا مِنْ قَطْرَةٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ قَطْرَةِ دَمْعٍ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ أَوْ قَطْرَةِ دَمٍ أُهْرِيقَتْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»
Hasan reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no gulp more beloved to Allah than the gulp of anger which a servant swallows (for the sake of Allah's pleasure), or the gulp of patience at the time of calamity. And there is no drop more beloved to Allah than the tear that falls out of fear of Allah, or the drop of blood shed in the way of Allah."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas radi Allahu anhu that indeed the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever swallows his anger while having the power to act upon it, Allah will call him before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection and will give him the choice to select whichever houri he wishes." [ابن ماجه : 4186 ، حسن]
