1292 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الشَّاهِدُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا السَّوَّارُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَضْلُ الْعِلْمِ أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْعِبَادَةِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The virtue of knowledge is greater than worship."
