Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you about your good and bad people? Your good people are those from whose evil others are safe and from whom good is expected, and your bad people are those from whom good is not expected and from whose evil others are not safe."

Brief Explanation
Explanation: In these ahadith, the distinction between a good and a bad person has been clarified. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has declared that person to be the best from whom people expect goodness and benefit, and from whose evil they are safe and unafraid—that is, people naturally feel assured in their hearts regarding him, knowing that he does not harm anyone, but rather, to the extent possible, always thinks of the welfare of others. However, the person from whom no good is expected, and in whose regard people naturally feel fear in their hearts, thinking that this person is dangerous and should be avoided, and that no good but only harm will come from him—such a person is the worst of mankind.
