Brief Explanation
Explanation: The meaning is that a person's best friend is the one who is better for his friend in every circumstance, that is, who always desires good for him and is there for him in times of distress and hardship. And the companion should also be righteous, because only a righteous companion can be the best companion for him, who is also the best in the sight of Allah Ta'ala. Similarly, the best neighbor is the one who is the best for his neighbor, that is, who always desires good for his neighbor and shares in his difficulties and sorrows. Such a neighbor can only be a righteous neighbor, who will be better for his neighbor in every circumstance and will also be the best in the sight of Allah Ta'ala. (Adab al-Mu'asharat: p. 118)
