Mutarrif bin Abdullah narrates from his father, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and I heard him reciting: ﴿أَلْهَاكُمُالتَّكَاثُرُ﴾ (At-Takathur: 1) "The mutual rivalry for piling up (worldly things) diverts you." (Then) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The son of Adam says: My wealth, my wealth, whereas from your wealth only that is yours which you have consumed and finished, or worn and worn out, or given in charity and sent ahead."

Brief Explanation
Explanation: In this, encouragement is given that if a person has been blessed by Allah with wealth and riches, he should spend more on those who are truly deserving and in the ways beloved to Allah, because only the wealth given in charity will be stored for the Hereafter, where he will receive its reward and recompense. As for the rest of the wealth that he spends on his food, drink, clothing, etc., all of it will be used up and decay in this world, and none of it will benefit him in the Hereafter.
