Brief Explanation
Explanation: -
The meaning is that having more wealth is not a proof of being truly wealthy; rather, real wealth and sufficiency is the wealth and sufficiency of the heart. Whether a person has little or much, whatever he possesses, he should make do with it, remain independent of the world, and not extend his hand before anyone. At all times, he should be patient and grateful for the pleasure of Allah Ta‘ala.

Yes, it is a reality that the richness and wealth of the heart is only granted to someone who is truly fortunate; otherwise, the majority are paupers of the heart. The poor are poor, but even most of the wealthy class have been seen to be paupers at heart. They are so immersed in the pursuit of more wealth that, let alone Allah Ta‘ala, they are not even conscious of themselves. However, those blessed ones who attain the richness of the heart, even if they possess nothing, still live with patience and contentment in the remembrance of Allah Ta‘ala. Their thoughts do not turn towards the wealth of others, nor do they ask anything from people.

They do not neglect the rights of Allah (huquq Allah) and the rights of the servants (huquq al-‘ibad), because they know that the wealth of this world is perishable and bound to end, whereas the reward and recompense with Allah Ta‘ala is never-ending. May Allah Ta‘ala grant us the richness of the heart. Ameen.
