1201 - أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، نا عَمِّي، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ الشَّافِعِيَّ، رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ يَقُولُ فِي حَدِيثِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَتَغَنَّ بِالْقُرْآنِ» ، قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ «نَقْرَؤُهُ حَدَرًا وَتَحْزِينًا»
Rabi’ bin Sulayman says that I heard Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding the hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him): “Whoever does not recite the Qur’an with a pleasant voice is not from among us,” say: (that the meaning of this hadith is) that we should recite it with a sorrowful voice and with measured recitation.
