Brief Explanation
Explanation: This blessed hadith belongs to the category of metaphor and allegory. In it, encouragement for jihad in the path of Allah has been given, because it is human nature to seek shade for comfort and ease, and the reality is that the eternal and everlasting shade is the shade of Paradise. Therefore, whoever wishes to come under this eternal shade should perform jihad, because jihad is a very important means and cause for attaining Paradise.
When, in the battlefield, one person comes face to face with another, each of them comes under the shadow of the other's sword. Thus, the mujahid who is killed in this state will go straight to Paradise, and if he returns as a victorious warrior (ghazi), then Paradise is also for him. Therefore, it is said that Paradise is under the shade of swords.
Here, observe a faith-inspiring incident: Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari radi Allahu anhu was (in the battlefield) before the enemy and was saying that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Indeed, the gates of Paradise are under the shade of swords." Upon hearing this, a worn-out man stood up and said: "Abu Musa! Did you yourself hear this hadith from the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam?" He replied: "Yes." Upon hearing this, that man went to his companions and said: "I bid you assalamu alaykum." Then he broke the scabbard of his sword and threw it away, and, taking his sword, plunged into the enemy ranks until he was killed. «اللهم ارزقنا شهادة فى سبيلك»
