1161 - وَأَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْفَارِضُ، أبنا الْقَاضِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ سُعَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، بِإِسْنَادٍ مِثْلِهِ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ: «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَحْمَةٌ مُهْدَاةٌ»
This narration is also reported from A‘mash through his chain in another way in the same manner, and in it is: "O people! I am a mercy sent (by Allah, the Exalted)."
Brief Explanation
Benefit:
Allah the Exalted says: “And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.” (Al-Anbiya: 107) {اور ہم نے آپ کو تمام جہان والوں کی طرف رحمت بنا کر بھیجا ہے ۔}
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu reports that it was said: O Messenger of Allah! Will you not supplicate against the polytheists? So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Indeed, I was not sent as one who curses excessively; I was only sent as a mercy.” [مسلم : 2599]
