Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, from what the people have obtained of the words of the first Prophethood is this: If you feel no shame, then do whatever you wish.”

Brief Explanation
Explanation: From these ahadith, it is understood that the importance of modesty and shame (haya) has remained in the laws (shari‘ahs) of all the noble Prophets (alayhimussalam). All the Prophets informed their respective communities of the significance of haya and made them aware that when a person loses modesty and shame, he no longer remains bound by anything; he neither feels shame before the creation of Allah nor does he have haya before Allah Ta‘ala. In other words, he becomes like an unbridled camel. In the Punjabi language, it is said: “Laah chhaddi loi, te kehiye karega koi,” meaning, when the cloak of modesty and shame is cast aside, then what can anyone do to him?
