1133 - نا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْحَجَبِيُّ، نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، نا بَهْزُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَالِي آخُذُ بِحُجَزِكُمْ عَنِ النَّارِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Humaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with me that I am grabbing you by your waists, saving you from the Fire?"

These ahadith describe the utmost compassion and eagerness of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam regarding his ummah’s acceptance of faith, and at the same time mention the misfortune of the people—that despite his sincere efforts, compassion, and intense eagerness, people, due to being deprived of faith, will become fuel for Hell in great numbers, just as moths leap into the fire.
