1132 - نا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ التُّجِيبِيُّ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، نا سُفْيَانُ، نا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّمَا مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُكُمْ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ اسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا فَلَمَّا أَضَاءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهُ جَعَلَ الْفِرَاشَ وَالدَّوَابَّ يَتَقَحَّمُونَ فِيهَا، فَأَنَا آخِذٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ عَنِ النَّارِ، وَأَنْتُمْ تَقَحَّمُونَ فِيهَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, my example and your example is like that of a person who kindled a fire, and when it lit up what was around him, moths and other creatures that fall into the fire began to fall into it. So I am holding you back from falling into the fire by grasping you by your waists, but you are slipping from my hands and falling into it."
