Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah is pleased with the servant who, when he eats food, praises Allah for it, or when he drinks a drink, praises Allah for it.”

Brief Explanation
Explanation: The meaning is that when a person finishes eating food or drinking something and then expresses gratitude to Allah Ta'ala, praises and glorifies Him, Allah Ta'ala becomes pleased with this act of His servant. When the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would finish eating, he would recite this supplication: «الْحَمْدُلِلهِكَثِيرًاطَيِّبًامُبَارَكًافِيهِ ، غَيْرَمَكْفِيٍّوَلَامُوَدَّعٍوَلَامُسْتَغْنًىعَنْهُرَبَّنَا » "All praise is for Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise. We were not able to fully do justice to this food, nor is it something that has been bid farewell forever (and this is recited so that) we do not become heedless regarding it. O our Lord!" [بخاري : 5458]
Another supplication is also narrated: «الْحَمْدُلِلهِالَّذِيأَطْعَمَنِيهَذَاوَرَزَقَنِيهِمِنْغَيْرِحَوْلٍمِنِّيوَلَاقُوَّةٍ» "All praise is for Allah who fed me this food and provided me with sustenance without any power or strength from myself." [ترمذي : 3458 ، وسنده حسن]
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever recites this supplication after eating, his previous sins will be forgiven." (Also)
