It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah loves gentleness in every matter." Imam Muslim has also narrated it with his chain from Imam Zuhri with his chain in the same manner.

Brief Explanation
Explanation: In these ahadith, the lesson of gentleness and leniency is given, that Allah Ta'ala likes gentleness in all matters. Therefore, the servants should, keeping in mind what Allah Ta'ala likes, adopt gentleness in their mutual dealings instead of harshness. However, where the Shari'ah has demanded strictness, there strictness is better, but in all other matters, gentleness is preferred. See also Hadith number 732.
