Hadith 1030

Aamir Sha’bi says that I heard Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) saying this, and he narrated a long hadith in which it was also mentioned: “Listen! Every king has a specific sanctuary. Listen! The specific sanctuary of Allah is that which He has forbidden.”

Brief Explanation
Explanation:
In these ahadith, through a beautiful example, the exhortation to avoid what Allah the Exalted has forbidden is given. Just as every king has a specific pasture, a particular land into which no one is allowed to enter or graze animals, similarly, Allah the Exalted also has a specific pasture. And Allah the Exalted’s specific pasture is His forbidden things, which no one is permitted to approach. Just as no one is allowed to enter the king’s specific pasture, and whoever does so is punished, likewise, whoever commits what Allah the Exalted has forbidden will be deserving of punishment.
