1011 - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمُعَدِّلُ، أبنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، ثنا أُنَيْسٌ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْمُسْتَمْلِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ فِي الْمَعَارِيضِ لَمَنْدُوحَةً عَنِ الْكَذِبِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that indeed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, there is protection from lying in speaking with hints and allusions."

Janab Mutarrif says that I traveled with Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn radi Allahu anhu from Kufa to Basra; there were very few stops where we dismounted and he did not recite poetry. And he also said that speaking in allusions and indirect expressions is a means of avoiding lies. (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 857, and its chain is authentic)
