Hadith 1006

1006 - وأنا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صِلَةُ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ بُنْدَارٍ الْقَزْوِينِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ، أنا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الزُّهْرِيُّ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ مِثْلَهُ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ
This hadith is also narrated through another chain from Ibrahim bin Abdullah al-Mukharmi with his chain in the same manner, but in it, instead of «حدثنا ثابت», there is «عن ثابت».

There are clear differences between the faces of righteous and wicked people. Outward beauty and ugliness are one thing, while the radiance (nurani) or lack thereof on the face is another matter. People of sound nature can often discern, by looking at others’ faces, whether they are righteous or wicked, Muslim or non-Muslim. (Ahadith Sahihah 91/2)
