Hadith Number 1304
Hadith 1304
1304 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَصَلَّي خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ عَادَ إِلَي الْحَجَرِ فَاسْتَلَمَهُ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَي الصَّفَا، وَقَالَ: «نَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ» : ﴿ إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللَّهِ﴾
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Tawaf of the Ka'bah, he offered two rak'ahs of prayer at the Maqam Ibrahim. Then he returned to the Black Stone and touched it. After that, he proceeded towards Safa and said: "We will begin with that which Allah mentioned first." (The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is:) «إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللهِ» (2-al-Baqarah:158) "Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah."
