1298 - أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَي قَالَ: ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: قُتِلَ أَبِي يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، فَجِيءَ بِهِ إِلَي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَوُضِعَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَقَدْ مُثِّلَ بِهِ، فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَكْشِفَ عَنْهُ، فَنَهَانِي قَوْمِي، وَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَكْشِفَ عَنْهُ، وَيَنْهَانِي قَوْمِي، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرُفِعَ بِهِ، فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ بَاكِيَةٍ، فَقَالَ: «مَنْ هَذِهِ؟» ، قَالُوا: ابْنَةُ عَمْرٍو أَوْ أُخْتُ عَمْرٍو، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَلَا تَبْكُوا، أَوْ فَلِمَ تَبْكِي؟ فَمَا زَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ تُظِلُّهُ بِأَجْنِحَتِهَا حَتَّي رُفِعَ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: During the Battle of Uhud, my father was martyred. He was brought to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and placed before him. His body had been mutilated. I intended to remove the cloth from his face, but the people of my tribe stopped me. I wanted to remove the cloth from his mouth, but my people were preventing me. Then, by the order of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he was taken away from there. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the sound of a woman weeping and inquired: "Who is this?" The people replied: It is the daughter of Amr (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words), or the sister of Amr. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not weep (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words), why are you weeping? The angels continued to shade him with their wings until he was taken away."
