1292 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: «نَهَي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمُخَابَرَةِ» قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: " وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ لَنَا فِيهِ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا إِلَّا هَذَيْنِ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ، يَعْنِي لُحُومَ الْخَيْلِ وَالْمُخَابَرَةَ، فَلَا أَدْرِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ جَابِرٍ فِيهِمَا أَحَدٌ أَمْ لَا، وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ الْأَسْهُمِ فَإِنِّي أَنَا قُلْتُ لَهُ: سَمِعْتَ جَابِرًا عَلَي مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ "
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade "mukhābarah." Sufyan says: In every narration I have heard from Amr bin Dinar, he said: I heard Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate this, but the ruling of these two narrations is different. That is, the narration regarding horse meat and the narration regarding mukhābarah—I do not know whether there is any other narrator between Amr bin Dinar and Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) in these two narrations or not. As for the narration regarding arrows, I asked him: Did you hear Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate this? He replied: Just as I am narrating this hadith to you.
