Hadith 1290
1290 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرٌو، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: «فِينَا نَزَلَتْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ وَبَنِي سَلِمَةَ» ﴿ إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلَا﴾ ، «وَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَنْزِلُ لِقَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ» : ﴿ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا﴾
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: This verse was revealed about us, that is, about Banu Haritha and Banu Salama. «إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلا» (3-Aal Imran:122) "When two groups among you were about to lose heart." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I do not like this, that this verse had not been revealed, because Allah Almighty has said: «وَاللهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا» (3-Aal Imran:122) "Allah is their Protector (Supporter and Helper)."
