Hadith 1286
1286 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرٌو، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَي النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قَاتَلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّي أُقْتَلَ، أَيْنَ أَنَا؟ قَالَ: «فِي الْجَنَّةِ» ، قَالَ: فَأَلْقَي تَمَرَاتٍ كُنَّ فِي يَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قَاتَلَ حَتَّي قُتِلَ
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of the Battle of Uhud, a man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! What is your opinion? If I am killed fighting in the way of Allah, where will I go? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To Paradise." The narrator says: That man put aside the dates he had in his hand and then participated in the battle until he was martyred.
