Hadith 1276
1276 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو هَارُونَ الْمَدَنِيُّ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ، لِأَبِيهِ: " وَاللَّهِ لَا تَدْخُلُ الْمَدِينَةَ أَبَدًا حَتَّي تَقُولَ: رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَعَزُّ، وَأَنَا الْأَذَلُّ، قَالَ: وَجَاءَ إِلَي النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ أَبِي، فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا تَأَمَّلُتُ وَجْهَهُ قَطُّ هَيْبَةً لَهُ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ آتِيَكَ بِرَأْسِهِ لَأَتَيْتُكَ، فَإِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَرَي قَاتِلَ أَبِي "
Abu Harun Madani narrates: Abdullah, the son of Abdullah bin Ubayy, said to his father: By Allah! You cannot enter Madinah until you say that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is honorable and you are the most disgraced. The narrator states: That person came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have come to know that you wish to have my father killed? By the One Who has sent you with the truth, due to the awe of my father, I will not hesitate in his killing; if you wish, I will bring you his head. But I do not like that I should see my father’s killer (or that I should be considered my father’s killer).
