Hadith 1221
1221 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا قَاسِمٌ الرَّحَّالُ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ وَمِائَةٍ، وَأَنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ ابْنُ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَأَرْبِعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ وَنِصْفٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ: دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خِرَبًا لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ، يُرِيدُ قَضَاءَ حَاجَةٍ، فَخَرَجَ مَذْعُورًا، أَوْ قَالَ: فَزِعًا، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «لَوْلَا أَنْ تَدَافَنُوا لَسَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ مِنْ عَذَابِ أَهْلِ الْقُبُورِ مَا أَسْمَعَنِي»
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to a ruin belonging to Banu Najjar to relieve himself. He returned in a state of anxiety and was saying: "If I did not fear that you would stop burying (your dead), I would have prayed to Allah that He make you hear what I have been made to hear regarding the punishment of the graves."
