Hadith 1205
1205 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: «شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ، يُدْعَي إِلَيْهَا الْأَغْنِيَاءُ، وَيُمْنَعُهَا الْمَسَاكِينَ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُجِبِ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَي اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The worst food is the food of the wedding feast, "in which the rich are invited and the poor are left out. Whoever does not accept the invitation disobeys Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)."
