Hadith 1054
1054 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ مَنْ سَمِعَ، أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ صَوْتَ بَاكِيَةٍ، فَنَهَاهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «دَعْهَا يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ، فَإِنَّ الْعَهْدَ قَرِيبٌ، وَالْعَيْنَ بَاكِيَةٌ، وَالنَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) heard the sound of a woman weeping, so he forbade her. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O Abu Hafs! Leave her, for the time of calamity is near, the eye is weeping and the soul is in pain."
