1002 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا سُمَيٌّ مَوْلَي أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ جَهْدِ الْبَلَاءِ، وَدَرَكِ الشَّقَاءِ وَسُوءِ الْقَضَاءِ، وَشَمَاتَةِ الْأَعْدَاءِ» قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْأَرْبَعِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge from the severity of trials, falling into wretchedness, evil fate, and the gloating of enemies. Sufyan says: Out of these four, there are three things. (That is, Sufyan says that out of these four, three are exactly as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, but one has been added, though I do not know which one has been added.)
