Musnad al-Humaydi

Wahb bin Abdullah narrates from his father, who narrates from his grandfather: On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saying: “May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.” Then Imam Humaydi gestured with his hand in such a way that he spread out his right hand. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! (Pray) also for those who trim their hair. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.” The people said: O Messenger of Allah! (Pray) also for those who trim their hair. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.” The people said: O Messenger of Allah! (Pray) also for those who trim their hair. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “(May Allah have mercy) also on those who trim their hair.” This time, Humaydi gestured with his hand but did not spread it as he did the first time. Sufyan says: I saw the narrator’s name written as “Marib” in my notes, and according to my memory, his name is “Qarib.” People also narrate him as “Qarib,” as I remember. However, I say that his name is either “Qarib” or “Marib.”
