Hadith 951
951 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ نَحَلَهُ نَحْلًا، فَأَتَي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيُشْهِدَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَ مِثْلَ هَذَا» ، قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: «فَارْدُدْهُ»
Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: His father gave him a gift, then he went to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to make him a witness. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Have you given a similar gift to each of your children?" He replied: "No." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Then take it back."
