Sayyiduna Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The one who establishes the limits set by Allah and the one who violates them are like a group of people who board a boat and divide their places among themselves. Some go to the upper part and some to the lower part, which is less preferable. The passageway and the place to get water for the people of the boat is in the lower part. When the people in the lower part come to their place, they take an axe. The other people ask them: 'What are you about to do?' They reply: 'We are about to make a hole in our designated place so that we may be closer to the water and have access to the passage and the flow of water.' (Among the other people) some say: 'Leave him. May Allah keep him away; let him break whatever he wants in his share.' But others say: 'Do not leave him like this so that he breaks it, otherwise he will destroy both us and himself.'" (The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says:) "If those people stop him, then that person will also be saved and the others will also be saved along with him. But if they do not stop him, then that person will also be destroyed and the others will also be destroyed along with him."
