895 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ الْفِهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «يَنْفُلُ الثُّلُثَ فِي بَدْئِهِ»
Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah Fahri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I participated in (a battle) with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) initially gave one third of the spoils of war from the booty.
