Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Will you not destroy the (idol temple) ‘Dhul-Khalasah’ of Yemen?” I submitted: O Messenger of Allah! I am a person who cannot sit firmly on a horse. The narrator says: So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck his hand on my chest and prayed: “O Allah! Make him firm and make him a guide and a source of guidance.” The narrator says: I set out. Sufyan, the narrator, says: Perhaps I set out with forty or fifty men who belonged to my tribe. I burned down that idol temple. Then I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I submitted: I have come to you at a time when I have left it like a mangy camel (useless) (the narrator is unsure about a word here). The narrator says: So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) invoked mercy three times for the horsemen and foot soldiers of the Ahmas tribe.
