Hadith 817
817 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قَيْسًا، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ، فَقَالَ: «هَلْ تَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ؟ فَإِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ، لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ، فَمَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ لَا يُغْلَبَ عَلَي صَلَاةٍ قَبْلِ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ، وَلَا قَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا فَلْيَفْعَلْ»
Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the fourteenth night of the month, we were present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Are you seeing this moon? Indeed, you will see your Lord in the same way as you are seeing this moon, just as you face no difficulty in seeing it. So, whoever among you can, should not be overpowered regarding the prayer before sunrise and the prayer before sunset (i.e., should not miss them)."
