Hadith 769
769 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ إِلَي مَغَيْرِبَانِ الشَّمْسِ، فَلَمْ يَبْقَ شَيْءٌ يَكُونُ إِلَي قِيَامِ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا أَخْبَرَنَا بِهِ، عَلِمَهُ مَنْ عَلِمَهُ، وَجَهِلَهُ مَنْ جَهِلَهُ، فَقَالَ: «أَنَّ الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ، وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِيهَا فَنَاظِرٌ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ؟ أَلَا فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا، وَاتَّقُوا النِّسَاءَ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِقَدْرِ غَدْرَتِهِ، وَلِوَاءً عِنْدَ اسْتِهِ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ أَفْضَلَ الْجِهَادِ كَلِمَةُ حَقٍّ» وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «كَلِمَةُ عَدْلٍ عِنْدَ ذِي سُلْطَانٍ جَائِرٍ» قَالَ: ثُمَّ بَكَي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، وَقَالَ: «فَكَمْ قَدْ رَأَيْنَا مِنْ مُنْكَرٍ فَلَمْ نُنْكِرْهُ أَلَا وَإِنَّ بَنِي آدَمَ خُلِقُوا عَلَي طَبَقَاتٍ، فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُولَدُ مُؤْمِنًا، وَيَحْيَي مُؤْمِنًا، وَيَمُوتُ مُؤْمِنًا، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُولَدُ كَافِرًا، وَيَحْيَي كَافِرًا، وَيَمُوتُ كَافِرًا، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُولَدُ مُؤْمِنًا، وَيَحْيَي مُؤْمِنًا، وَيَمُوتُ كَافِرًا، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُولَدُ كَافِرًا، وَيَحْيَي كَافِرًا، وَيَمُوتُ مُؤْمِنًا، وَمِنْهُمْ سَرِيعُ الْغَضَبِ، سَرِيعُ الْفَيْءِ فَهَذِهِ بِتِلْكَ، وَمِنْهُمْ بَطِيءُ الْغَضَبِ، بَطِيءُ الْفَيْءِ، فَهَذِهِ بِتِلْكَ، أَلَا وَإِنَّ الْغَضَبَ جَمْرَةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَمَنْ وَجَدَهُ مِنْكُمْ وَكَانَ قَائِمًا فَلْيَجْلِسْ، وَإِنْ كَانَ جَالِسًا فَلْيَضْطَجِعَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delivered a sermon to us from after 'Asr until near sunset. He (peace be upon him) informed us about every major event that will occur until the Day of Resurrection. So, whoever has knowledge of it, knows it, and whoever remained unaware, remained unaware. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This world is green and sweet. Allah Almighty has appointed you as His vicegerents in it, so that He may see how you act. Beware! Be cautious of the world and be cautious regarding women. Remember! On the Day of Resurrection, a specific flag will be for the traitor, according to the extent of his treachery, and this flag will be at his buttocks. Remember! The best jihad is to speak the truth (here, the narrator Sufyan sometimes narrates this word) to speak a just word in front of a tyrant ruler." The narrator says: Then Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said: We saw many evils, but we did not reject them. (The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, also said:) "Beware! The children of Adam have been divided into different categories. Among them are some people who are created as believers, they live as believers and die as believers. And some people are created as disbelievers, they live as disbelievers and die as disbelievers. Some people are created as believers, they live as believers and die as disbelievers. Some people are created as disbelievers, they live as disbelievers, but at the time of death, they become believers. Among them are some people who become angry quickly and their anger also subsides quickly, so this is equal. Among them are some people who become angry slowly and their anger also subsides slowly, this is also equal. Remember, anger is a burning coal, so whoever among you feels this state, if he is standing, let him sit down, and if he is sitting, let him lie down."
